Shimmer

Marking Mutation

This mutation occurs randomly through breeding.
This mutation causes the coat to have a light sheen to it.
It can also optionally cause a slight rainbow tint

Shimmer may cover the whole of the Jhoven, or parts of the Jhoven.

Markings it covers:

Most All

Markings that cover it:

Muzzle

Any White markings,  and optionally Soul Socks or Spirit Tracks.

Color:

Shimmer by itself makes the Jhoven’s coat a lighter “shimmery” color.
Shimmer may express slight rainbow colors in certain areas of the Jhoven.
One or all seven of the colors may be used. Slight variations from these swatches may be used.
Make sure to set the opacity of the rainbow layer these colors are on to 30% or lower. The rainbow colors should be subtle.

Marking Notes:

This mutation must appear somewhere within the minimum range. The entire range does not need to be covered.
Shimmer should roughly follow along the muscle definition of the Jhoven.
This mutation must not mimic plain white painted on the Jhoven, nor can it over brighten and or over saturate the coat underneath.

In order to get a good shimmer effect, we recommend you paint with white on a layer that is set to “overlay”.
Having a layer underneath the initial overlay layer set to “softlight” and at 10-25% opacity can give your shimmer a little boost.

This marking allows a subtle “rainbow” To appear in certain spots on the Jhoven. This only shows where Shimmer is shown. This variation of the coat cannot not be on more than 5-10% of the Jhoven.
This is optional.

Incorrect Shimmer Examples:

The coat is too bright especially on the shoulder area and too saturated.shoulder area.

The shimmer appears more to mimic roan and does not give a “sheen” look.
